Background:
Bridgeview Marine:

Bridgeview Marine is a complete sales and service marine facility with every amenity that pleasure and commercial boaters could want. They manufacture and supply aluminum boats, offer boat repair, and providing a wide range of outboard and sterndrive marine power options.

The goal for this client was to generate more leads and telephone calls to his sales team for new and used motor sales, aluminum boat building sales and marine parts and service. This site did not sell online at the time although we were certain it would be successful when the time came to implement that strategy for this client. With the direction, strategy and guidance of their ThinkProfits’ Personal Account Advisor, Bridgeview now sells outboard motors directly from their website.

Challenge:

The client came to us with a fragmented web presence which consisted of a template based web site the telephone company had sold him consisting of roughly 5 pages of information. Effectively he had an on line business card. No business was being generated from their web site at this time.

The previous site's limited structure and poor conversion process required a complete redevelopment. To target search rankings, ThinkProfits completed a comprehensive keyword analysis and recommendation. Since we also were designing and developed the site at the time, we built the site to be "search engine optimized" and included a shopping cart. Since the client also wanted the flexibility in managing parts of the site, we also built in a custom Content Management System to provide them with the flexibility, while avoiding the roadblocks of the previously poorly developed site such as:

  • Poor user experience and client experience in managing the site
  • Unable to include a shopping cart software or integrate a checkout
  • Low or no rankings for keywords that searchers might use to find their site

The Strategies and Execution:

We redesigned his new look and feel to match his company branding in a creative flair that gave the readers of his site a good feeling immediately and when they browsed his site. We integrated browns and crisp blue water to give the reader the feeling they were in a boat already! This feel was carried all the way through the design of the site.

We also build out secure web forms that people could fill out to contact his business on line without the risk of their personal information being hijacked. They could also call their stores toll free from anywhere in North America. We recommended a dedicated 800 number for his web site to help him track the calls from people who were calling in from the web site to enquire about motor sales. This way he could track to the dollar how much business was coming in from the leads and telephone enquires that were coming in from the web site.

By building this web site with a strategy of building landing pages that targeted specific keywords for his services like aluminum boat manufacturer, outboard motors, boat parts and building a solid architecture with supporting content we have successfully gotten this client ranked on page 1 and position 1 for all of his primary keywords.
